Dollar General Corporation - Vehicle Damaged
Dollar General,
My car was damaged by a metal cart in your store parking lot {nice size dent on the fender} the store manager was courteous enough to wait for me to leave the store to inform me of what happened.
We went back into the store, she proceded to submit a claim to the corporate office.
I received a letter stating Dollar General is not liable for personal property damage and the claim submitted by the Millersburg, PA store manager was denied.
I have placed 3 phone calls to your so called corporate claims representative, Donna Raley, left 3 voice messages and still no return call!!!
No visible signage anywhere at the store to substaniate the denial of liability.
Very unhappy customer who will no longer shop at Dollar General.
Sincerely,
Tim Manning

I hate Dollar General with a passion, but you, sir, do not have a case against them. It is not their responsibility to babysit your car or any of your belongings.
That's just common knowledge. What you and others do in an establishment is between you and them. The only exception to the rules is if an employee is involved. An employee can cost a company a lot of money by being careless and leaving stuff (like carts) sitting around.
It's unfortunate that some lazy individual ditched their cart in the parking lot and it damaged your vehicle, but unless an employee does something to you, the company has the right to NOT assume liability, which they did. They filed the claim to cover their *** so that nothing could fall back on them later-not because they cared about your car.
Sad but true. Any company will more than likely treat you like that.
