To whom it may concern, my name is...

AI Highlights
  • - Customer asked if a FedEx package arrived; staff called a supervisor, who was rude, and the customer will shop elsewhere and requests retraining.

to whom it may concern, my name is Manuel Rossel. I live in Seguin, Texas 78155.

Today, I went to one of your stores, specifically the one at 430 N. Austin St. I wanted to know if one of my packages had arrived through FedEx. The clerk was not sure how to proceed, so he called a supervisor or manager to the front.

This is where my problem occurs. First, she did not say, 'Hello, sir. Can I help you?' Second, there was no courtesy whatsoever. She glanced around and said, 'It's not here.

Whose name is it under?' So, I said my name. To no avail, she just left with no 'Thank you, sir. Check back later.' The point here is that this woman had no consideration, being rude and not respectful, showing no professionalism. If you don't like working here, maybe you shouldn't!

So, I will relate this to my family and friends: do not shop there if that's how you're going to be treated, like you are nobody. This woman needs to be retrained or demoted to something else. We will be going to the other Dollar Generals, but not there. Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. M.R.

Pros:
  • Local product reasonable
Cons:
  • Not educated in their positions

Preferred solution: Apology

User's recommendation: be aware.

Excuse me ma'am stop yelling at my son.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Regular customer reports an employee yelled at their 7-year-old, followed them inside, and threatened to ban them at Dollar General.

Store location: Dollar General, ****** (intersection of Massachusetts & Congress)

Employee involved: ***

Date/time of incident: 06/26/2026 around 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM

Customer contact: J Z***

Description of incident: I am a loyal, daily customer who has shopped at this specific location 3 to 4 times a day for the past 2 years without a single issue until today. I am writing to formally report an extreme case of unprofessionalism and harassment by an employee named ***. While I was locking up our bicycles by the front door, my 7-year-old son sat briefly on a display chair near the entrance. An employee inside named *** began loudly yelling at him to get up. When my son walked over to tell me what happened, *** came to the doorway and continued to loudly and aggressively lecture him, stating, 'tables were not made to sit on.' When I intervened to let her know that I am his mother, was standing right there, and could address my child myself, *** became highly combative and denied having an attitude. I attempted to de-escalate the situation by walking into the store to grab my items and leave, but *** actively followed me into the store to continue arguing with me. She then escalated the situation further by threatening to ban me from shopping there and explicitly told me to 'do my shopping somewhere else.'

I didn't want to fight anymore in front of my children, seeing they were already stressed out from witnessing a fatal accident 10 feet from them the day before. The yelling she was doing arguing with my son and then her yelling at me, fighting back and forth, showing aggression when I replied back that she was unprofessional, harassing us by continuing to follow us in the store when I was obviously trying to remove us from the situation that had my autistic son very scared and emotional. I've given the date and time to hopefully make it easier for you to review the cameras. Again, I never complain to a company, but this involves my son, who has already been through so much, so he is an emotional wreck already. He didn't deserve to be treated like she treated him. If she had directed him once to tell him not to sit on the table and then left it alone, seeing he got up instantly, then that wouldn't have been the problem. There's a way you talk to a customer, a person, without yelling, arguing, and harassing. I think she needs to take some classes that teach how to approach customers in situations like this, how to be professional, and conflict problem solving. Seeing she is a manager, I think she would be more professional. I guess that's not something you need to be in a management position at Dollar General? I'm sure it is! I would like an update on this, please. There are security cameras located at the front doors and throughout the store. I request that management immediately pull the footage from this date and time to witness ***'s aggressive tone, her yelling at a 7-year-old child, and her following me into the store to escalate a conflict.

Disciplinary review: This behavior completely violates basic customer service ethics and standard employee conduct. An associate does not have the authority to ban a daily customer of 2 years over a child sitting on a display chair. I am sure of that. Thank you for your time. I look forward to seeing *** get the education she is required as management so she can better herself.

J Z***

Pros:
  • Have the money to educate their employees and im sure some where in the big guy line of managers someone has the heart to changes the cons
Cons:
  • Not educated in their positions
  • Hires anyone
  • Lack of training and good customer service

Preferred solution: For Melissa and future Managers to go to classes that educate them on good customer professional service. Money to get my son therapy.

User's recommendation: Don't take your kids here unless you're ok with another female yelling at your children.

7:00 pm Saturday June 13 2026. Went into one of your stores north *** in *** ***.

There was about 4 people in line and I was number 5. Waiting as long as others when a *** come from the exit side of the line to purchase. Cutting in line when I was next to be cashed out. As the black guy behind the counter was I invisible or what ?

Told him I was next. Then brushed me off. It was wrong and when I checked him on it He gave me such a smart *** attitude. Told him I didnt need this Told me to leave in front of other customers.

Told him I will get in contact with higher ups of the store.

That was enough and only last time I will step into your stores again. The woman outside the store said it was her last to experiencing his nasty way of talking to others (customers )he dont need to be behind the counter if he cant handle the public esp if they are right.

User's recommendation: Stand for what’s right even if it is a low priced store.

Dollar General Refuses to Document What They’ve Already Admitted: Corporate Silence Enables Police Abuse

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - DG findings: no employee requested trespass; officer acted on his own.
  • - Manager apologized; said authority lacked; won't provide writing.

Dollar General Refuses to Document What Theyve Already Admitted: Corporate Silence Enables Police Abuse

A Dollar General store wont put their own investigation in writingand thats not an accident.

What Happened

A customer was criminally trespassed from a Dollar Generalfor attempting to shop during posted business hours.

The police report claims that a store manager requested the trespass. Thats the official record.

Except Dollar Generals own investigation proved that never happened.

A District Manager told the customermultiple times, on recorded callsthat: No Dollar General employee requested or authorized the trespass The responding officer acted on his own, claiming the customer was a known issue The supposed manager named in the report was a recent hire who is no longer employed

She apologized. She acknowledged the employees had no authority to close early. She confirmed everything needed to challenge the false police record.

And then she refused to put any of it in writing.

The Timeline of Corporate Stonewalling

Week 1: District Manager calls back after initial complaint. Explains internal findings verbally.

Week 3: Follow-up conversation initiated by customer. Same findings. District Manager requests police documentation, receives it via provided email. Promises follow-up email the next day. Never sends it.

Week 6: Formal written request for statement. No response. Online complaint requesting escalation to Regional Manager or Legal. No response.

Week 7: Customer service call. Promised callback in 24-48 hours. Nothing.

Week 8: Another call. Same promise. Same silence.

Week 9: Another call. Another broken promise.

Multiple emails to corporate addresses including the CEO, various VPs, investor relations, customer service, and the district manager.

Zero responses.

Why This Matters

This isnt about an apology. The customer already has thaton tape.

This is about a false law enforcement record that gives a deputy legal justification to arrest someone for going to the store.

Dollar General knows the record is false. They investigated it. They confirmed it. And now theyre protecting their liability at the expense of someones civil rights.

Their silence isnt neutral. Its a choice. By refusing to document what theyve already admitted, theyre allowing a fabricated police report to stand as factand leaving a customer to fight law enforcement alone, with one hand tied behind their back.

What Dollar General Doesnt Want in Writing

They dont want to admit that: Their employees closed the store early without authorization Their employees called the police on a customer who was just trying to shop Their employees stood by while an officer manufactured a trespass notice The officer who responded has a documented history with this individual The so-called manager who allegedly requested the trespass may not have even held that title

And they definitely dont want to admit that employees locked customers inside the store while procedurally securing the buildinga potential fire safety violation under state law.

Because once thats in writing, its not just the customers problem. Its their problem.

The Legal Reality

The state allows one-party consent recording. The customer has the recordings. Has the District Managers verbal admissions. Has the case numbers, incident reports, and documentation provided in person.

But recordings dont fix a false police report. They dont provide standing to demand corrections from law enforcement. They dont carry the weight of an official corporate statement when fighting a civil rights violation in court.

Dollar General knows this. Thats why they wont respond.

Law enforcement has already been served with a preservation of records demand. Legal action is moving forward. But Dollar Generals obstruction makes that fight significantly harderand they know it.

Dollar General can provide a written statement voluntarily, or they can provide it under subpoena. The first option is faster, cheaper, and less embarrassing for everyone involved. The second option guarantees this gets dragged into discovery, depositions, and public record.

Their choice.

Why This Should Concern You

If youre a Dollar General customer, ask yourself:

What happens when a police officer decides youre a problem?

Can your local Dollar General employees call the cops, claim you were trespassed, and leave you with a permanent recordeven if corporate later admits it was ***

Apparently, yes. And apparently, *** General will apologize in private while refusing to help you fix it in public.

This isnt just about one incident. Its about whether corporate retail chains will stand behind their customers when law enforcement overstepsor whether theyll just say the right things behind closed doors and leave you to fend for yourself.

The truth exists. Dollar General confirmed it. They just wont put it in writing.

If they wont do the right thing, the public deserves to know exactly how they chose to handle it.

To Dollar General Corporate:

If you're reading this because someone finally decided to check what customers are saying about your company online, here's what you need to know:

This is about Case Numbers: CCS142****, CCS133****, 134****

District Manager *** has the full details. She conducted an internal investigation. She confirmed the customer's account. She apologized for the employees' actions. She promised documentation.

And then she went silent.

Multiple emails. Multiple calls. Escalation requests to Regional Management and Legal. Promises of 24-48 hour callbacks that never came.

Here's the thing: the customer isn't the problem. The employees who closed early and called the cops? That's not even the problem anymore. The apology was accepted. That issue was resolved.

The problem is the false police report that still exists because you won't document what you already admitted.

A deputy trespassed a customer on his own authority, claiming a manager requested it. Your investigation proved that never happened. But without a written statement from Dollar General, that false report standsand the customer gets arrested if they cross the street to shop.

Your obstruction is what's turning this into a liability problem.

That written statement will exist one way or another. You can send it voluntarily in an email, or you can provide it under subpoena during discovery.

Right now you're protecting yourselves from one kind of liability while creating a much bigger onebecause refusing to cooperate in correcting a false law enforcement record puts you on the wrong side of a civil rights lawsuit.

The case numbers are above. District Manager *** knows exactly what this is about. Provide the statement, or explain to your legal department why you chose to obstruct instead.

Ball's in your court.

Preferred solution: Written statement confirming investigation findings as verbally provided by District Manager S. Dixon.

I don’t know what is the most sad. That you shop at DG, got trespassed from DG or are trying to reverse the trespass.

And no, the ball is not in DG’s court.

They are going to ignore you. I like how you did not describe the original incident that the police were there for.

Good morning, to who this concern to: I...

AI Highlights
  • - Visited several Dollar General stores seeking ice cream cones year-round.
  • - Staff said ice cream is a summer item and suggested a survey.

Good morning, to whom it may concern:

I wanted to let you know that I have gone to five different Dollar General stores, and even DG Market. I was trying to avoid going to *** since they were about 9 or 10 miles from me and another one about 17 miles. We have a Dollar General store in my town, which is a small town, but we have one store. I noticed that as I was walking around looking for ice cream cones, I asked a teller if they had any, and they told me it's only a summer item. They would tell me it's down this aisle or down another aisle. If the store is selling ice cream year-round, I'm not sure why they don't have ice cream cones as well. All year long, one of the staff members told me to do a survey. So, this is my survey.

Sincerely,

Thank you,

***

I live in ***, ***.

User's recommendation: Not trying to go to 5 different store to find anything.

I’m assuming since it’s Summer that they had them now. Where was your post in January or weren’t you looking for them then?

And DG never claimed to be nor is it set up to replace a grocery store. If it IS your only source of food items, there’s a lot more they don’t carry that’s more complaint-worthy.

  • - Store is disorganized, with blocked aisles and expired sale tags; cashier is rude and management turnover raises concerns.

I know I'm wasting my time contacting you by all the compliments I've read online and saw nothing was done, but here goes. I live in Forney, Texas, and have been a customer at the store on Highway 1641 since it opened.

There have been several managers over the years, but nothing like the one you have now. She comes to work dressed like a homeless person in the same shorts and shirt that appear to have not been washed in weeks, and her hair looks like it's never had a comb run through it. The store now looks like an abandoned warehouse, with everything all over the floors blocking aisles, making it almost impossible to shop, and with expired sales tags. You can't tell what's on sale.

By the way, this is a violation of Texas fire code.

The cashier is rude, smart-mouthed, and self-entitled, like idiots of yesterday. I will no longer be a customer of Dollar General.

Cons:

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was in the Dollar General Store @12826, 486 N LaGrange Road, Hanover, IN today. The issue is Deceptive shelf pricing.

The store is displaying expired or incorrect sale tags on the shelves. When brought to the register, items scan higher than the advertised price. The store manager explicitly refused to perform a price override to match the posted sale sign, claiming she was not allowed to fix it, resulting in abandonment of an entire cart of merchandise.

DG's official policy states the manager should honor the price but remove the old or incorrect price immediately. This is not the first time this has happened.

I'm just getting tired of being over charged. Last week I was charged the correct sale price on one container of ice cream and the other one I was charged full price. When the Dollar Market first opened in Hanover the shelf price on pudding and the register price did not match. It couldn't have been that they didn't have time to update the shelf pricing because they had just opened.

The price didn't match opening week. I really hate shopping where I am constantly getting over charged and you cannot see the register screen as you're being over charged.

Hello, I am a faithful $ General...

Hello, I am a faithful $General customer, but I must finally report the local store in ***, *** (#13878). The address is ***.

The zip code is 71052. I moved here two years ago and have tried repeatedly to shop at this $General store in the town I live in. I have avoided this store for about three months this time. I try using it again and again, hoping things will change, but it is just bad.

This year I have gone into this store four times, and on 6/8/2026, that was it for me. Problems with being short-staffed would be my first guess. I wish a corporate executive would secret shop at this store! Nothing is put up.

Full and empty boxes and rolling carts clogging the aisles. You can't get to anything on the shelves without rolling a cart or dragging boxes out of the way, and if you do get a clear shot, more times than not, the shelves are empty. When I went to this $General on 6/8/2026, I picked up four small items, and the checkout line wound halfway through the store. Why?

ONE young girl running the whole show. If there was anybody else working, they must have been hiding. The store literally looks like a tornado turned the building upside down and scattered merchandise everywhere. I am only one customer, but I would urge somebody to come see for themselves.

This is NOT just one bad day; it has been TWO years so far. Last year, an employee had a poster board sign displayed when you walk into the store.

It said, 'All purses and backpacks are to be see-through, and spot searches will be enforced.' The company has built a new store about 15 miles from my house, so I'll go there if I need something, but that is insane when there is one two blocks from my house. I am not a complainer, but somebody needs to inform you!

Pros:
  • Big asset to any town
Cons:
  • Got to run them right

User's recommendation: Just hope and pray this store turns over a new leaf
