I have always been a loyal customer at the Dollar General stores every since they opened in my area, over the last ten years I have battled with cancer which took a hard toll on my physical and emotional state of life, I now have an emotional support dog, which has been a miracle for my state of mind. My dog is just a little over a year old now and very well behaved, I have always taken my dog with me inside the Dollar General, in Grover, N.C., for close to a year, keep in mind this is a 5 pound Chihuahua, very little guy, has always went in the store with me until a few days ago when a manager approached me and told me that my dog is not allowed in the store, I never had this problem before, and was just recently told a little over a week before this that I could bring my dog in the store as long as I carry him I am very upset and my dog is disappointed also, please make your stores dog friendly for the people that like shopping at your stores, because there's usually a good reason why the majority of people bring dogs in with them in the first place, just common sense actually

That's not being mean that is company policy. The people that work in the actual stored don't make the rules they just follow them.

If you had proof that your dog is a service dog, which many wear vest stating the fact. There should not have been a problem.

Certificated no problem. You just can't bring your dog in cause you want.

Also your dog was disappointed??? Um ok

It has to be a certified/trained service animal. Not just a dog that you call a comfort animal.

No... don’t bring your dog on a place that sells food. That’s gross.
